Britney Talks about Touring
Britney
Spears reckons she can tour vast continents with one
hand behind her back, and her eyes closed, and her
brain switched off! "I’ve been on tour before
with a band. I was the opening act, and that’s my
favourite thing - to be on tour", she told
Radio One. "Because it’s like you have your
schedule, you wake up in the morning and you
actually get to sleep late, and you have like your
two hours of promotion before the show, and you do
your show and that’s it". And she adds:
"Then you do the same thing and you travel on
the bus. I’m performing and I’m entertaining at
night and that’s my love, so I don’t find it
gruelling at all".

"Absolutely Not" Enhanced
Britney
Spears apparently has broken the silence on the
burning question of our day: So, is she really looking
extra perky these days or does the camera just add
extra pounds--and/or inches?
The
answer is "absolutely not"--as in, the
17-year-old ex-Mouseketeer has "absolutely
not" installed breast implants.
According
to the New York Post, that's what Ms. Spears
said last weekend during an unexpectedly frank Q&A
session with reporters in Boston.
WXKS-FM
radio reporter Billy Costa told the tab that his
did-you-or-didn't-you? question was met with
"absolute silence" by his fellow media. But
Spears, she of the chart-topping ...Baby One More
Time, seemed less thrown, quickly issuing her
"absolutely not" denial, he said.
The
singer's camp could not be reached for reaction today.
Radio brass at WXKS also clammed up.
The
comment appears to the be the performer's first direct
statement on the much-debated matter of her bustline.
The implant buzz started last April (notably, on the
same day Pamela Anderson Lee announced she'd had hers
taken out). The New York Daily News reported
that the teenybopper recently had gone under the
knife. At the time, Spears' rep declined to confirm or
deny, saying the question was "too
personal."
"However,
she really doesn't think there's anything wrong
with" implants, the spokesperson said.
Spears'
features were also brought into the spotlight
following a bouncy, flouncy photo shoot for Rolling
Stone--supposedly provocative pictures that
reportedly cost her the sponsorship of candy-maker
Nestlé for her summer tour.
Spears
was in Boston on Saturday to perform at WXKS' sold-out
20th anniversary concert, also featuring the
like-minded likes of 'N Sync and B*Witched. She and
her chest kick off a 50-city North American tour June
28 in Pompano, Florida.

Pop
Star Britney Spears Makes Milk a Big Hit
Teen
singing sensation Britney Spears thinks milk is at
the top of the charts. The latest celebrity to wear
a milk mustache, 17-year-old Britney makes no bones
about getting enough calcium. The new ad breaks in
the July issue of Seventeen hitting the shelves June
10. Her copy reads:
Baby, one more time isn't enough.
9 out of 10 girls don't get enough calcium.
It takes about 4 glasses of milk every day.
So when I finish this glass, fill it up baby.
Three more times.
Britney
Spears may sing "pop", but she knows that
milk is a better choice than soda pop. With nine
essential nutrients including calcium, milk can help
teens like Britney build strong healthy bones.
During the teen years when bones are in their most
active growth phase, nearly half of all bone is
formed and about 15 percent of adult height is
added. And, the teen years are the time to drink
milk to help prevent osteoporosis down the line.
Britney's
incredible popularity with teens may persuade them
to incorporate milk into their diets," says
Kurt Graetzer, CEO of the Milk Processor Education
Program. "Nearly nine out of 10 teen girls and
almost seven out of 10 teen boys don't get enough
calcium during these crucial bone-building
years."
The
National Academy of Sciences recommends teens
consume 1,300 mg of calcium a day, or the equivalent
of about four 8-ounce glasses of milk. On average,
most teens drink only one glass of milk a day. The
good news is that drinking milk in the teen years
will help keep bones strong and healthy for a
lifetime. And, that's something to sing about.
The
'got milk?(R)' Milk Mustache marketing campaign is
jointly funded by the nation's fluid milk processors
and America's dairy farmers. The multi-faceted
campaign was initiated to educate consumers and
correct misconceptions about milk. A series of
educational brochures for consumers is available by
calling 1-800-WHY-MILK or by visiting the milk Web
site at http://www.whymilk.com.

organizations manage the American Dairy
Association(R), the National Dairy Council(R) and

the National Fluid Milk Processor Promotion Board,

Britney Spears To Celebrate Fourth Of July At
Woodstock
Britney Spears will kick off this year's "A
Day in the Garden" concert series with a Fourth of July show at Yasgur's farm
in Bethel, New York -- the site of the original Woodstock peace and music
festival held back in 1969.
Spears' July 4 gig is being sponsored by the same
group that sponsored last summer's "A Day in the Garden" concert,
which featured performances from such rock icons as Lou Reed and Joni Mitchell, as
well as the Goo Goo Dolls and Third Eye Blind.
"A Day in the Garden" organizers are
currently planning additional concerts for the Bethel venue as part of its summer series,
although a final schedule of artists and dates is still pending.
Spears, who has already sold over 3 million copies
of her debut, "Baby One More Time," will make the trip to Yasgur's
farm during the first week of her upcoming U.S. tour, scheduled to start on June 28
in Pompano Beach, Florida.
Woodstock '99, the actual multi-day concert
commemorating the 30th anniversary of the original event, is slated for
July 23-25 in Rome, New York, and will feature performances from DMX, the
Red Hot Chili Peppers, Wyclef Jean and Alanis Morissette, among others.

Teen
Princess
Britney's
bosses were so impressed by her turn in TV series
Dawson's Creek that they're trying to find her a new
show in which to star. Her debut album, Baby One More
Time, went platinum in the UK, while the single sat at
the top for a fortnight. Despite dislocating her knee,
the 17-year-old has been touring the States recently.

Britney
Spears voted 14th most sexist person
ACTRESS/SINGER
It's not easy being 17 and juggling home schooling
with worldwide pop stardom. At a video rehearsal in
February, "I was kicking my right leg up, and
the left leg just collapsed," says Britney
Spears, whose infectious debut CD, . . . Baby One
More Time, has sold more than 3 million copies.
She spent three weeks on crutches, then underwent
surgery to repair torn cartilage in her knee.
But hobbling -- oops,
that's hobnobbing -- with professional hairdressers
has its advantages. "One stylist told me to get
my hair lightened even more," says the
naturally brunette Spears. "It looks so much
better."
Not that the 5'5"
singer needs much help. "Even as a little baby
she was really darling," says her mother,
Lynne, a second-grade teacher in Kentwood, La. (Dad
Jamie is a building contractor.) "She has
always been noticed."
Never more so than in the
uproar over the recent Lolita-like photos of her
that appeared in Rolling Stone. "I
thought they turned out really well," counters
Spears, who was also wounded by a report that she
has breast implants. "It hurts me to hear this
kind of stuff," says her mom.
But famous friends like 'N
Sync's JC Chasez say it's Spears's fresh-scrubbed
look that really appeals. "Guys are into her
because she's cute, and girls like her because she's
not trying too hard," says Chasez, who first
met Spears in 1992, when both were Mickey Mouse
Club Mouseketeers, along with 'N Sync's Justin
Timberlake. Spears's schedule -- in addition to a
40-city tour starting in June, she's in talks for
her own TV pilot and appearances on Dawson's
Creek-- doesn't leave much time for dating. So
if she has an embarrassing makeup moment, it's in
front of a whole stadium. She was all set to walk
onstage to open for 'N Sync at Dallas's Bronco Bowl
last December when she noticed a large blemish on
her cheek. With the ingenuity of youth, "I
covered it with eyeliner and made a mole," she
says. But midway through the show, the beauty mark
turned ugly. "It smeared because I had been
sweating!"

Sometimes
UK release delayed again
The
expected release of "Sometimes" in the UK,
has been put back one week to Monday June 14th.
Reasons for the delay are down to yet a still high
placing of "Baby", still currently at 27 in
the charts, strong competition of other groups and
signers, but another problem with distribution with
another single.
Saturday

kicks of US Woodstock
Britney
Spears will kick off the 1999 season of A Day In The
Garden At Yasgur's Farm, a live music series that will
be held at the original Woodstock site in Bethel, N.Y.
The Jive artist will perform July 4 at 7 p.m.; tickets
for the show are $25 each and available through
Ticketmaster. Other concerts in the series will be
announced shortly.
The
first A Day In The Garden At Yasgur's Farm was held
last year; the one-off concert, organized as a weekend
fest, featured performances by Joni Mitchell, Pete
Townshend, Stevie Nicks, Joan Osborne, and Lou Reed,
among others.
Spears'
appearance at A Day In The Garden will come amid her
summerlong tour. She'll start her planned North
American trek June 12 at Dodgers Stadium in Los
Angeles. Spears' debut set, "...Baby One More
Time," has been certified quadruple-platinum by
the Recording Industry Association of America. This
week it's No. 3 with a bullet on The Billboard 200.

Sometimes ready to hits UK
shelves
The
follow up to the massive successful "Baby",
"Sometimes" is just hours from it's UK
launch. Launched on Monday June 7th, and already doing
well in the UK airplay charts, sometimes is a slight
change in style, but shows Britneys natural talent to
perform a range of different singing types.
Pre
sales of "Sometimes" is quite high with many
high street stores claiming per sales to be as high as
"Baby", which certainly a great sign for
another possible UK Number
One.
